I was a the Fiery Furnaces show at Mercury Lounge for a quick House List assignment. I was pretty put off by that rapid fire delivery; not familiar with this band, I couldn't tell when one song began and when another ended. Pretty off putting. My only request for super late shows: be a bit more engaging?Comedian and Saturday Night Live writer John Mulaney, best known for his Girl Scout cookies Weekend Update bit, opened. That was the first stand up act I've enjoyed in a while.
